Tax
How is Digital Nomad Visa income taxed?
Digital nomads who become Greek tax residents (over 183 days/year) are taxed on worldwide income at progressive rates. A special relocation regime under article 5C of the Income Tax Code (Law 4758/2020) grants a 50% exemption on Greek-source employment or business income for up to 7 years, conditional on not having been Greek tax resident for 5 of the prior 6 years and taking up new activity in Greece. Because the regime targets Greek-source income, its application to a nomad's foreign-source remote income is contested and not automatic.

Regime: 50% reduction (7 yrs), about 15% effective tax on €60k/yr.
50% income-tax break for the first 7 years for qualifying new tax residents; conditions apply. Freelancer social (EFKA) is a fixed monthly category amount (roughly €240 to €650), not a % of income, so it isn't folded into the rate here.
Living comfortably to well in Athens runs about €1,500–€2,100/mo for one person, incl. rent.
